Meet your Filmmaker.

Hi! I’m Brandon.

My passion for creating videos started when I was in elementary school, capturing random hobbies with my friends using a GoPro Hero 2 and a Sony Handycam. When I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker, so I attended the Film & Media program at Queen’s University. During my time there, I realized that I wanted to start my own business instead of taking the traditional filmmaking route. So, I started a wedding video business to help pay for school while practicing my craft. After the pandemic, I took a break from the wedding industry to move into outdoor brand and real estate content. As I got older, friends started to propose, which allowed me to start shooting weddings again. Throughout those 8 years of growth as an artist and business owner, I realized there’s no better feeling than seeing the reaction from a couple after delivering a piece of timeless art made specifically for them.

At heart, I am an artist first, and I want to create something special for you because you and your partner’s story deserves it. My experience over time led me to create a more documentary-style approach to wedding films compared to the music video highlight style. In each film, I capture audio with each shot so I can incorporate any sound bites that might come from the moment. This allows me to craft a story out of the wedding. By using a cinema camera called the ZCAM E2-F6, I’m able to capture a wide dynamic range to produce a cinema-quality image in any condition.

I aim to deliver top-quality documentary-style films while providing a candid experience for you and your partner so you can let your personality shine in front of the camera.

That’s how madebyroyce was created. I am based in Calgary, Alberta, but I find myself travelling more often than not to capture weddings.
